Education & Research
EDUCATION
The Education Committee is tasked with creating educational modules on topics ranging from the impact, science, ethics, etc. of alternative proteins. Education also plans and leads the education primers every semester. These are sessions that new members attend in order to become more familiar with the world of alternative proteins. The committee also works with Penn Professors to integrate alt protein modules into Penn courses and conducts outreach to different academic departments within the university.
Our organization's newsletter is also spearheaded by the Education Committee!

RESEARCH
The Research Committee has several goals, such as the development of open access tools to pioneer transformative approaches in the alternative protein sector and the emphasis of interdisciplinary insights in research. The group also seeks to foster the cultivation of a synergistic research environment bridging academia, industry, and the entrepreneurial sphere.
This past semester, the committee worked on a project, MediaCore, which aims to utilize the abundant transcriptomic data by mapping them to metabolomic outcomes which are essential in determining the optimal cell media composition.
